Item Description
A large and impressive antique table lamp from the renowned Arts and Crafts designer WAS Benson. It combines both brass and copper which have an aged patina.
Featuring the classic four footed leafy base and delicate overlapping arms supporting the shades. All brass parts have been highly polished.
Repair Note – please note that this lamp came to us with a loss. The pointed finial at the top of the centre stem was missing. A replacement piece which matches the original has been hand made to complete the piece.
Examples of this lamp can be seen in the original Benson catalogue and also in the Maison de L’art Nouveau in Paris.
Fitted with hand made pleated pink silk shades.
Stamped Benson
Fitted with an original Art Nouveau vaseline glass shade delicately patterned and in good condition.
Size. Overall height 60cm Width 40cm. Width of base 22cm
Wired with approximately 2 metres of nugget coloured antique style braided cable. PAT tested prior to dispatch. Please note that original Benson switch on the stem no longer operates as a switch and is decorative only.
