Mid Century, Swedish Painting 'Footballers.' OLLE AGNELL (1923 -2015)

Movement and team work in both subject and application of colour in this fabulous mid-century gem. Cobalt blue and goose grey strips with striped socks, (sportswear goals) Cezanne blocks of colour with an expressionist verve.

About the artist

Olle Agnell studied at Otte Sköld's painting school 1945-47 and at the Academy of Fine Arts 1948-51.

Public decorations made by Agnell can be found in Sankta Anna's chapel , Fyllinge daycare centre, Örjans Vall and Östergårdsskolan, all in Halmstad.

Agnell is represented at the National Museum , the Modern Museum, the Gothenburg Art Museum, the Malmö Museum , the Kristianstad Regional Museum , the Kalmar Art Museum, the Halland Art Museum , the Västerbotten Museum in Umeå, the Västmanland County Museum in Västerås, Borås Art Museum , Landesmuseum Hannover and Museum Wurth, Kunselsau, both in Germany.
