Tecta Armchair by Eric Lyons for Packet Furniture, 1950s

An Eric Lyons armchair in the modernist style. The Tecta chair dates from the end of the Utility period and demonstrates awareness of the flowing lines of much contemporary continental furniture, particularly Scandinavian and Italian. It outlasted the Utility scheme, when its manufacture was taken over by E.E.Kahn and Co. Ltd., of Great Yarmouth. A couple of Packet Furniture Chairs are listed by the VA.

This one benefits from full reupholstery including webbing of the seat back by Mark our Upholsterer. The fabric is a green textured woven fabric from a small West Country supplier which fits the era so well. The steamed bentwood frame sits firm with day to day marks but nothing nasty or off putting.

When purchasing from us we include delivery in the purchase price which is based on a one person delivery for England and Wales. Please call or email for quotes to Scotland, Northern Ireland, The Isles and for World-wide shipping.

For any large items that require two people to lift the item, we ask that you are available at the time of delivery to be able to give our shipper a lift off the van and into your house with the item. If you are not able to lift items yourself, we ask that you have someone on hand at the time of delivery to assist our shipper with moving the item. We are happy to quote for a two person delivery if required.
