Item Description
A mid 19th century parian ware bust of Greek Goddess, "Clyte. The Water Nymph", in classical style drapery raised on a socle base. With impressed mark "C. Delpech Redt" and also Impressed Mark "Art Union of London 1855". Parian ware or "bisque porcelain" was created by Minton in 1840, and named as such because of it's striking resemblance to marble, the Greek word for marble being "Parian". This beautiful piece, is in wonderful original condition, with fine definition to her face, hair and robe. 36cm tall.
