Subject beautiful marine scene of a 2 masted sailing schooner ship with all sails hoisted entering the Tyne going past the Herd Groyne Lighthoue by South Shields on choppy seas. With the crew on deck by the stern. Overhead nearby seagulls flying above, to the right a steamer sail ship in the distance can be seen along with 2 yachts further back, towards the foreground a longboat with 2 crew rowing near the herd Groyne lighthouse.
