Item Description
Rare Georgian mahogany concertina action gaming table c.1770. Stands flat against the wall as a smart little side table or open the mechanism and fold open the top to make a table for four people with a green baize playing surface for cards etc. The concertina mechanism has the advantage of forming a crossbanded apron to each side of the table when open. Note the original sliding oak board with hand grips to lock the mechanism. Raised on straight legs with chamfered inner corners and lovely original Chippendale influence pierced brackets at the front and sides of the fixed legs. Very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
