Item Description
Superb quality Gothic carved oak throne or hall chair c.1950. Very nearly five feet tall backrest with a pointed arch top between foliate carved finials. Decorated with a tricorn oak leaf and crisp Gothic tracery laid over flat panels with crenelated moulding to the bottom edge. Raised sides to form short arms, with lovely carved leaf detail and moulded tops, curving down to meet the front stiles with square chamfered pommels to the tops. Large board seat (height 18") with a loose seat pad. Shaped apron below the seat and raised on sturdy square stiles with moulded block feet. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
