Item Description
Unusual 19th.c. campaign chest in Indian rosewood c.1860. A fine quality example of the form and an unusual choice of timber (the majority being in camphor or teak). Solid rosewood boards with brass bindings and corners. Fitted inside with a bank of four small drawers to the right hand side. Original brass carry handles at each end with distinctive star shaped backplates. Note also the superior quality brass hinges used. With a repair and some obvious wear to the lid, otherwise excellent condition with great character and original colour. Restored, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Later lock with key supplied.
