Item Description
Delightful little late 18th.c. Welsh oak potboard dresser base, Carmarthenshire c.1790. Unusual small size, just 57½" wide. Split level top with a raised plate stand along the back edge with five small spice drawers (note the inlaid detail between) and pointed 'shoes' at the ends. Over three drawers with moulded edges to the drawer fronts and later brass handles with decorative pierced backplates. Triple arch apron to the front below the drawer. Raised on square stiles with chamfered edges all round, joined with the open potboard display shelf. Some old marks and previous repairs. Otherwise very good condition and particularly good colour. Restored, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
