Item Description

The trio of early 20thC slate plaques, the fronts with a verdigris glazed wash to imitate bronze, each graduating in size, depicting classical Greek scenes in low relief within ruled borders, probably being grand tour pieces, surviving from the early part of twentieth century Italy.

The condition of the plaques is good, there are drilled holes to each verso for former wall mounting. They haven’t been meddled with or cleaned and do not suffer any cracks with some minimal chips as photographed.

These panels are intriguing; they may just be good tourist pieces with the Grand Tour style coming to mind and are of Greek imagery based on the classical style.

Giving off that wonderful academic museum vibe, an intriguing group that could be wall mounted or displayed table top.
