An exceptional pair of late 19th century Gustavian Empire style barrel back armchairs newly re-upholstered in Romo Linara 'silver' linen with double piped borders. Featuring beautiful sweeping arms adorned with decorative hand carved sphinx motifs, an acanthus accented seat apron with delicate floret corner carvings, raised on turned legs to the front with foliage & fluted details, and sabre legs to the back. With their elegant lines and exquisite carvings, this stunning pair of neoclassical style armchairs would bring a graceful presence to any room. Swedish circa 1890.
