Circa 1870 A classic pair of polished Scottish carved stones of typical form, polished on the top and bottom and with a coarse facing in the center, top with bronze and white metal handle with wooden section in the center, neat sized with good coloured.
The island of Ailsa Craig was the original location where curling stones were made. Curling stones are made from 2 types of quartz-free granite: Blue Hone, Ailsa Craig Common Green.
