Item Description
Circa 1920. Rare pair of inlaid mahogany French tall open bookcases. Surmounted by a neat moulded cornice with an inlaid and crossbanded frieze over bookcase with four adjustable shelves flanked by inlaid pilasters with ormolu mounts. The sides with further crossbanding and tulip wood, boxwood and ebony string inlay, over shaped friezes with ormolu decorations and tapering short inlaid square feet.
