Item Description
Circa 1870. A mid Victorian amboyna mahogany ebonized and brass mounted Bonheur De Jour. The upper section with pierced brass gallery and gilt metal mountings above the pair of cupboard doors, opening to three shelf interior. The lower section with a fitted drawer with a gilt tooled leather writing surface which can be adjusted, all outlined with brass beading supported on turned and fluted ebonized supports, highlighted in gilt and mounted with Jasper wear rondels of classical scenes, united by a lower tier with knee recess, mounted on a rectangular plinth base. With mirror back, resting on turned feet and castors.
