Item Description
An antique iron mounted opal shade hanging light of large proportions. Excellent quality, heavy duty, beautifully made. French c1950 or a bit earlier with a c1900 hand blown opal glass shade.
The large opal "oil lamp" shade supported by a substantial rivetted construction iron frame with the central stem terminating in a 3 x BC lampholder manifold.
All thoroughly cleaned, rubbed up and clear waxed (x3). Rewired with 2m dark brown fabric flex and 3 new patinated brass lampholders.
Dimensions in inches/cms;
19"/48cm tall x 21"/53cm max width.
Opal shade is 17"/43 cm in diameter x 10.5"/27cm tall.
Iron ring is 16.75"/ 42.5cm diameter.
7.85kg (shade only is 3.1kg).
