Item Description
Circa 1830-40s French indigo resist large cotton quilt block printed with a design of madder red and saffron yellow boteh (paisley motifs) surrounded by sprays of stylised flowers.The reverse a patchwork of later mid 19th century printed cotton indigo small motif designs aand plain cottons or stripes.
The indigo side in a good overall antique condition but with quite extensive wear on its edges.The reverse patchwork of indigo prints has old repairs and darns and scattered holes in some sections.
