Item Description
An outstanding pair of hand blown Victorian Pharmacy Carboys, dating to around 1870 -1880, these were generally found in the window of Victorian chemists as a way of advertising their medicines within. The smaller of the two still has the original yellow liquid that was inside when we acquired it. The larger of the carboys we have filled with water and purple food coloring to imitate how they would have been originally used and displayed in the 19th century. The years of age on the smaller bottle have made the stopper stick tight so this one would be shipped with the yellow liquid in it.
We are selling these as a pair.
Dimensions: Yellow Carboy is 47cm Tall x 15cm Wide. The Stopper is 14cm Tall x 5.4cm wide.
The Larger Purple Carboy is 82cm Tall x 32cm Wide. Stopper is 16cm Tall x 8.5cm Wide.
