Item Description
A stunning Delft style vase, late eighteenth century and most likely French faience ware, possibly from the Saint-Omer factory. Beautifully modeled, featuring twin heads of the Roman God of Wine and Celebrations, Bacchus, with twisting serpent handles and hand painted decoration to one side with a typical 18th century country scene and on the other with small sailing boats in a tropical setting.
The vase is signed to the base, small areas of wear as to be expected on a piece of this age.
Height 37cm x Width 23cm x Depth 16cm
