Item Description
A Fine Mid 18th Century English Serpentine Tea Table of Excellent Colour.
Conceived in the Chippendale manner, this lovely tea table is of serpentine shape. The top opens and is supported on a swinging gate leg which rotates out of the back rail and holds the top in place. Having carved paterae to the blocks above the legs and angle brackets, all of gothic inspiration. The legs are also finely moulded and decorative. Having untouched colour and fine patination, as well as the quality of the veneers used on the top and the frieze. The veneers used on the inside of the top are also finely bookmatched.
Desirable aged patina.
