Item Description
An Early 18th Century English Elm and Oak Refectory Table with a Wonderful Elm Top.
The fabulous two plank overhanging elm top is supported on an oak base, having excellent colour and patination throughout. The table has four square sectioned and slightly chamfered legs joined by a low stretcher for maximum strength. It has shaped brackets where the legs join the frieze. The table is made using pegged construction as would be expected in a piece of this age.
This table is of long and relatively narrow proportions It is a fine and particularly attractive piece of English country furniture.
