This is an antique military trunk. An English, camphorwood chest or blanket box, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

• Appealing late Victorian trunk, with a wonderfully clean appearance
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
• Camphorwood presents fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
• Bound to the corners with quality brass caps and brackets

• Stout lid dressed with a shaped drop handle and unmarked name plaque to top
• Accentuated across the fascia with the name and number 4013 - A. Jones
• Shield shaped brass lock escutcheon to the front — untested, key absent
• Dressed with wide drop handles to each end for ease of carriage

• Lid opens wide and held securely with a strap hinge
• Delightfully clean interior dazzles with a bright biscuit hue
• Small candle box to the left-hand side, with a generous main compartment
