Item Description
Set of six early 18th Century Architectural engravings by Sir Colin Campbell.
Sir Colin Campbell’s “Vitruvius Brittanicus” is widely recognised and considered a classic for 18th Century British architecture.
Campbell was an assistant to the Earl of Burlington, and both were strong adherents to Vitruvian and Palladian classical architecture.
This collection consists of six drawings that are beautifully and intricately detailed using a soft use of pencil. Presented in hand-painted and lacquered reeded frames with hessian mounts and Ar70 Artglass for optimal clarity.
