Item Description
An Exceptional 19th Century Model of the Tea Clipper ‘Glengarry’ in full sail, built by Royden & Sons Liverpool in an oak and glass display case. English Circa 1868. The Glengarry was a famous Tea Clipper ship that traveled all over the world being photographed as far as Australia. It was built by the Liverpool ship makers Thomas Royden & Sons in 1868 and sank in 1892 with the loss of four crew onboard. This wonderful large scale model, built by G A Shields, housed within an oak and glazed case with engraved brass plaque, allowing to be viewing from all angles. The British artist Henry Scoot (1911-2005) has painted this ship titled of the artwork “Moonlight on the Glengarry’.
Hard to find of this scale with exceptional attention to detail, this is by far one of the best we have seen.
