A fine quality pair of walnut chairs by well respected cabinet maker Lamb Manchester.
Founded by James Lamb 1816-1903 - Lamb Manchester was an important name in the Aesthetic movement. Having a showroom and workshops in Manchester, they produced high quality furniture for the homes of the wealthy using high quality timber and workmanship.
Lamb of Manchester was one of the top three manufacturers of Gothic Revival, Aesthetic and Anglo-Japanese furniture in the 19th century.
Strong heavy chairs, newly upholstered in a thick quality leather and hand dyed to create a unique cigar brown colour, with deep buttoned back rest and individual brass studded trim.
Very high quality frames and lovely walnut colour, with decorative carved flower detail on the back rest.
Leather padded arms, with turned spindle supports.
Good sized comfortable seats.
On strong turned legs.
Stamped underneath with the makers name 'Lamb Manchester'
