Item Description
A most unusual George III mahogany washstand or cabinet. Most likely a washstand the hinged lid lifts to reveal a tray top behind two short false drawers, once most probably with a fitted interior. Below the two top false drawers sits a bank of two short drawers opposite a cupboard comprising of two short drawer fronts. The whole then sits above a twin cupboard base. The cabinet retains all the original knobs and cock beading to the drawer fronts together with reeded narrow panels to the legs at each side raised on spade feet. Constructed entirely of mahogany with a stunning colour and patina and retaining the original brass fittings the cabinet has an almost "campaign furniture" feel.
