Item Description
An early 19th c. glazed pine dresser/housekeeper's cabinet of low and wide proportions. This type of dresser is typical for Cornwall where, more often than not, the cottages had low ceilings. Elegant drawers with gradual increasing depths, surrounded by cockbeading. Overall, the dresser is of simple almost Shaker style design, with a sharp shallow cornice, and front apron-shape base. Original faux rosewood exterior paintwork. Repainted interior. The doors still have their original rippled float glass panels. There is a crack to the corner of one panel, but it is perfectly stable and safe. Could be used in a kitchen, bedroom, or sitting room. Consists of two parts.
