Item Description
Large, late 19th century, French archtop mirror with etched silverleafed frame decorated with a criss-cross design and cream beading along the sight edge. Where the silverleaf has thinned over many years of cleaning, the black bole beneath is showing through in places. The mirror is topped with a mostly cream floral and foliate cartouche with some verdegris, grey and silver colours within it and the original glass is in excellent condition, with only a hint of age, giving and a very good reflection. The plain edge along the base shows that this mirror was made to be an overmantel but it can also be used over any large piece of furniture.
