Item Description
Small antique French table, circa 1880, with gilt decoration of flowers within ribbon loops on all four sides. Each corner is angled and finished with a Bacchus sprite face, complete with dangling grapes for earrings! The long table legs have elegant acanthus leaves carved into the tops, just above a rounded ball with ribbon-twist decoration and taper to narrow feet. The legs are joined with a curved stretcher decorated with husks on the flat surface and a central, lidded urn. The grey, marble top has bevelled edges and outset, angled corners to follow the shape of the table beneath. On lifting the top, the table has a storage area lined with red fabric.
