Item Description
Inscribed ‘HOC’ but although it is technically the House of Commons it is the Lord’s Chamber as the Commons met there from 1941 after their Chamber was destroyed by incendiary bombs. Spurrier drew this from life in the closing months of the war, probably as a commission for one of the pictorials of the day, possibly the Illustrated London News.
It is currently available to view and buy in our Cecil Court Branch in London. If you would like to try it on approval within the M25 please do, otherwise come and visit us in the gallery - we have several hundred of our paintings on display and several thousand in stock!
