Item Description
This is one of my favourite ever cushions! It is so cheerful with the yellows, whites and red colours, but not too garish. It is in excellent vintage condition and I adore the little fabric tassels round the edges. It is a vintage Chackla from the Kanbi Patel community from the Kutch region of Gujurat. It would be used for ceremonial occasions to decorate the wall or cover plates of offerings. The embroidery is cotton on a handwoven cotton ground and is beautifully executed. I've backed the cushion with an indigo dyed cotton, and there is a zip fastener and feather pad.
