Recently purchased in northern France this large chestnut dining table boasts a generous 2.30 meters long x 87 cm deep. It will comfortably seat 8 dinner guests or even a squeeze 10. The top was constructed over a century ago from four long seasoned chestnut timbers now mellowed to a pleasing golden brown, it does have a few age related surface marks as one would expect from its history and general use, but this only enhances its character and presence. There is one small drawer set within the side apron, perfect for the napkins! Raised on four slightly tapering legs with good knee height and plenty of leg room. A substantial antique country farmhouse table with elegant appeal, perfectly suitable for modern day dining. French chestnut farmhouse table circa 1870.
