Item Description
The top section to this pretty jardiniere is ribbed in design with acanthus leaves rising from beneath the bowl, generous in scale, deep and wide enough for maximum planting. It sits neatly upon a large elaborate terracotta stand with a stepped base the acanthus leaf detail being repeated. The whole piece over painted many years ago. The painted surface is old and weathered from decades of exposure to the elements now virtually worn away revealing the pale biscuit coloured terracotta beneath. One or two historical nibbles to both sections but no cracks or fractures. A decorative atmospheric garden centre piece from the mid 19th century. Terracotta jardiniere England circa 1850.
