Item Description
Antique original oil on canvas painting depicting a male sitter.
A rather portly man with a characterful face in a curly wig with a flouncy collar and sleeves. He is pointing at a map on his desk alongside a quill probably denting him as a navigator of some kind.
The painting is probably continental and is painted in a naive style.
Probably dates to the late 18th Century to possibly the early 19th Century period. Circa 1780-1810.
The painting is in good vintage condition, there are a couple of old repairs to the canvas and some areas of wear but overall the painting is largely in good condition.
Overall measurements 85cm high x 56cm wide x 2cm deep.
