Item Description
A small fairly primitive 17thC pine cassone. Likely a marriage chest from the South Tyrol region. Indistinctly dated and initialled.
With a panelled lid and front, the deeply moulded panels have a chip carved geometric border and floral designs.
There are remnants of polychrome paint to the mouldings. Inside is a candle box and iron hinges. The lock and key work.
