KOKE was born in Obanos on October 29, 1943, around the age of 14, infected by his father’s hobby, his adventures with wood and the chisel begins.
In 1964 in Jaca, where he was doing his military service, he held his first wood carving exhibition, which was followed by a multitude of exhibitions in different places, either individually or collectively.
In 1974 he received the first prize for sculpture at the Vitoria Biennial. He also received the first prize from the Association of Nativity Scene Makers of Pamplona.
Obero arya can be found in Pamplona City Hall, in the Museum of Navarre, in Arruazu (Navarra) "Tribute to Satrustegi", on Paseo de Sarriguren, as well as in entities and individuals.
More than 25 years ago he left his working world to leave his creative mark on wood with the chisel.
He works with a variety of woods depending on the work to be done: oak, walnut, cherry, pear, elm... Depending on what he wants to create, he looks for the appropriate wood. Other times it is the wood, the trunk, that produces the inspiration and gives rise to the work.
