Item Description
The first of two beautiful leather club chairs this week, both from a chateau near Sancerre, France.
Circa 1900. This scroll back armchair has large brass studs to the front of the arms and down the back. The tan coloured leather is in generally good condition with some cracking on the arms. The leather which covers the front, just below the seat cushion is loose on the underside where the stitching has come away.
That said, this remains a very stylish armchair which as developed a beautiful time worn patina.
(NB. The sprung seat is quite bouncy, and the feather seat cushion has been covered in a brown velvet fabric at some point).
