Cabot Oil on Canvas Portrait of a Dog by Georges Lemmers (1871 - 1944) Belgian artist, born in Antwerp in 1871 he was a pupil of the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp under Albrecht De Vriendt and under W. Rosier at the Academy in Mechelen. He is described as using an impressionistic, smooth brushwork with a fresh colour palette. Clearly visible in this example of his work. Other works by Georges Lemmers can be found in the Museums in Brussels, Sint-joost-ten-node, Bruges and Antwerp.
