Earthernware Bowl, white slip, incised and splashed with polychrome glazes under a futher transparent glaze. Most likely Nishapur. The City of Nishapur was founded in the 3rd Century AD. By the 9th Century Nishapur had a population between 100 and 200 thousand people and had become an important economic centre due to its location on the Silk Route extending from China to the Mediterranean Sea.
