Early 20th Century French Big Mama Papier Mache Bakery Advertising Head Display

My name is big Mama, I bake wholesome cakes and would have given big hugs when you needed. An early 20th Century hand crafted papier Mache French bakers promotional advertising head. This resembles a theatre head, but it is not since it has a reinforced pine frame at its base and was originally attached to a larger solid figure of sorts which had be damaged badly over the years and fallen apart. This item was uncovered in Paris earlier this month in an old grocery store. A great characterful object that just makes you smile.

This item is naturally aged with surface wear and loss with tears. As it’s made from paper the object has lost some of its painted surface and due to it age the paper has cracked in areas as we have tried to show. It’s a solid piece and very stable in form as it sat in the same part of the store for over 30 years. The pine base is also firmly attached as shown.
