Item Description
19th Century Hand Carved Opticians Display Shop Bust
Simply put, this object is brilliant in every way, in the form of a hand carved solid wooden bust of a well-to-do gentleman. Displaying an original early 20th Century pair of green glass lens glasses. This object was previously used to display different designs of optical glasses in an English optician for many years before we acquired it early this month. We are unsure of its history before this, apart from the fact that it shows exceptional craftmanship and age. With inserted glass eyes gazing downwards, it has a sinister look about it which is why we had to acquire it.
Size in inches: H 19 x W 7” x D 9”
Origin: England
Date: 19th Century
Condition: Fair
A naturally aged item that shows wear in the form of surface wear only. Completely solid in structure and form without breaks. The bottom grey base was added later.
