Item Description
A highly decorative portrait of a fashionable gent, oil on canvas and housed in a 17th century Italian sqrafitto gilt wood frame.
The gent it would appear has been removed from his originally stretcher at some point and possibly folded for safe keeping.
Late 17th/Early 18th century in age, likely English in origins.
Areas of loss to the painted surface, along with some gesso work missing from the fame and signs of elderly woodworm. Overall giving the piece a wonderful faded grandeur appearance.
