Item Description
A 19th Century Continental Painted Cupboard or Larder
This rustic painted cupboard, which oozes charm and character, is also extremely functional, providing ample storage for your home. It also splits in half for easy installation.
The upper section features attractive arched panelled doors, decorated with an abundance of skillfully painted fruit and flowers, and offers good storage with four shelves. The lower half has rectangular panelled doors, also nicely painted with floral wreaths adorned with ribbons and bows. Internally, there are two large and deep shelves.
The whole piece stands on stylish traditional bun feet.
A working lock and key are present for the upper section, with holding bolts functioning well for both sections. In good condition for its age with one shrinkage crack to the lower lefthand side and two feet.
This lovely country piece comes in a beautiful colour and offers nice proportions. It is ideal as a kitchen cupboard or larder but would also work equally well as a rustic linen press or bathroom cupboard.
