Item Description
A smart pair of leather and chrome Falcon Armchairs designed by Sigurd Resell (1920-2010).
The Falcon chair features a sleek, minimalist silhouette with clean lines and gentle curves, embodying mid-century modern elegance. The chair’s low profile and ergonomic shape provide comfort while maintaining visual lightness.
This much rarer model has low-slung armrests and is crafted from soft, supple dark brown leather that contrasts nicely against the chrome-plated frame. The leather back has a comfortable head support at the top, with button-back detailing below. The whole chair appears almost to float in its chrome frame, supported by a splayed four-legged base. Old factory label still attached to one chair.
They are in good vintage condition with wear to the leather but no rips or tears. There is one old small repair, almost invisible, on one arm, and the canvas back of one chair has two leather patches. The leather has been cleaned, nourished, and polished. Seat height 42cm.
The Falcon chair, designed by Norwegian designer Sigurd Resell in the 1960s, is an iconic piece of mid-century modern Scandinavian design. Resell was a prominent figure in Norway’s mid-century furniture scene, often collaborating with the Norwegian manufacturer Vatne Møbler.
The Burr Walnut Coffee Table By Paul Michel For Roche Bobois photographed with the chairs is also for sale in my DC store, link below:
