Item Description

This is a truly outstanding and extremely rare antique sculptural masterpiece from China that dates from the 19th entury. It is a fascinating bronze chariot with four horses and a man representing the Emperor Qin Shi Huang - created to serve as the vehicle for the emperor's voyages in his afterlife. This is known because a large scale original - that is about 2000 years old -  was unearthed in December 1980 in China that it is almost identical to this treasure except for the size. This particiular model measures about 30 x 40 x 75 cm or approximately 11.8 x 15.7 x 29.5 inches and it is in great antique condition. The bronze is painted in lovely green with cream and gold details. The horses are free standing. The carriage features doors and windows that can open. Exceptional in so many ways this remarkable treasure would create a mesmerizing centerpiece in any unique and stylish interior.

When discovered recently in Paris, I was told that this model which comes from a private collection originates from the 1850's and it was brought to France by a French diplomat of that time. Its creation was based on ancient drawings. It is exactly as I discovered it. For the full condition please refer to the images!
