A handsome antique George II style veneered dark oak fireplace.
Hand-carved in burr walnut, mahogany, and oak, this late 19th century fireplace has a desirable time worn look that would add charm and majesty to any period property. You can just imagine it a prominent feature in the main room and a grand Georgian or Jacobean style home.
It displays excellent egg and dart mouldings, handsome bracketed jambs, and an impressive large hand-carved frieze.

CONDITION REPORT
Good structural condition. Small losses. Marks and scuffs throughout. It has a walnut French polish finish. May benefit from refinishing. The fireplace looks its age but it could be refinished if desired. There are a series of small marks and losses to the surface of the shelf.
