Item Description
A complete prehistoric Cleoniceras opalised iridescent ammonite fossil, originating from Madagascar, presented on an exclusive museum-quality painted plaster base. Over 200 million years old, this ammonite fossil has developed an iridescent lustre through compression over the centuries, transforming it into a striking gemstone. It showcases flashes of red in places, dependant on the light. Also present are areas of naturally formed jigsaw patterning.
An age-old historical artefact, this ammonite is a superb natural specimen, making quite the collector’s or sculptural artwork piece.
