Item Description
A dramatic pair of antique regency era bronze figures, depicting the Roman God Mars and Goddess Minerva, elevated by stepped black marble bases with neoclassical style columns to the four corners and gilded highlights throughout.
Originating from France, these mounted bronze figures date back to the early 19th century. Today, they will make stunning decorative pieces for an interior with their classical style and Greco-Roman mythological theme.
One is cast in the form of the Roman Minerva (or Athena in Greek Mythology), goddess of wisdom and warfare, with a battle helmet atop her head, armed with a spear in one hand and a shield in the other. The other depicts the Roman Mars (or the Greek Ares), god of war and agriculture, wearing armour and a helmet.
Dimensions for each. Weight for the pair: 6KG
CONDITION REPORT
