Dating from the mid 19th century, this original pair of natural limestone winged lion statues are a rare find.
Having stood the test of time for more than 170 years, each lion is beautifully weathered yet retains its core features, telling the story of a prestigious Victorian era garden. Each winged lion statue sits in a seated position, resembling a creature of folklore with its clawed feet, luscious mane and prominent winged back.
Perfect for use as garden statuary in a period garden or as gate finials at the entrance to a large country estate.

CONDITION REPORT
Good structural condition. One is lacking a tail and has slight losses to both wing tips, a historic repair to the feet and the base. The other has a slight loss to the wing tip.
