A charming late 18th century portrait of a youth depicted in a blue silk dress with lace collar and pleated ribbon, holding a gold bird, on tiled floor with curtains and landscape.
The composition of this painting has echoes of classical 16th and 17th century dutch golden age portraits.In particular comparisons can be drawn from the works of Dirck Dircksz van Santvoort (1609-1680)
