Item Description
A very fine mid-19th century Victorian period quality figured burr walnut marquetry inlaid credenza with a beautiful colour and patina. The credenza features a quality burr walnut shaped top with matched burr walnut veneers and an ebonized moulded edge above a shaped burr walnut marquetry inlaid frieze. The central door is inlaid with foliate scrolls and is flanked on each side by bow-glazed cabinets outlined with brass ormolu mounts. The large centre door opens to reveal a shelf with a red faded silk-lined interior, while the glazed doors open to reveal two display shelves. The entire piece is raised on a walnut inlaid plinth base with later castors. The credenza has its original faded velvet lining interior and has been fully cleaned and waxed. It comes with working locks and keys. Great quality.
